Data and Analysis
This page is the gateway to the results, analyses and data from Countryside Survey 2007. Data and summary reporting is expected to be available in late 2008.
Facilities that will be provided include:
- a data access service to allow provision of data on request from all areas of the Countryside Survey database
- interactive web-pages providing easier access to a wide range of results, summary data and supporting data tables
- software tools for interrogation of the dataset, such as the Countryside Information System
Data access:
The project partners wish the resulting data to be used as widely as possible. To help achieve this, datasets will be produced containing different levels of summary information to suit different user needs. These will include country and regional level data as well as more detailed statistical tables, to allow further analysis within software such as the Countryside Information System. Such data will be freely available and accessible via web-based download.

- Land Cover Map data. Data from Land Cover Map 2000 and 1990 is currently available. Please see the LCM2000 web site, which includes conditions of access to data.
Data on the location of sample sites:
The project partners have agreed that release of data containing the actual location of sample sites would endanger the validity of these sites for comparison in future surveys. The release of location information may affect a site’s management or future permission to visit. Therefore, the partners do not intend to release this information.
