The survey information on the CS2000 modules
















 

 

Countryside Survey 2000 has repeated and extended previous surveys undertaken at intervals over the last 20 years. It has provided measures of the current state of the countryside and indicators describing the changes which have taken place. CS2000 is a partnership between several Government Departments, Agencies and the Natural Environment Research Council (see Sponsors for links) in the form of a jointly funded research programme. As well as repeating previous measurements it has established new techniques and broken new ground in the integration of field-based and satellite observation of the earth's surface.

Countryside Survey 2000 has provided information necessary for reporting on biodiversity in the wider countryside, measuring progress towards sustainable development and detecting the impacts of human activities and global environmental change.
