Module 11 links to the Northern Ireland Countryside Survey

Co-ordination between Countryside Survey 2000 and the Northern Ireland Countryside Survey with the aim of a UK report to common standards.

A Northern Ireland Countryside survey was first carried out in stages between 1986 and 1991 by the University of Coleraine. Environment and Heritage Service Northern Ireland are funding a repeat survey to be carried out in parallel with CS2000 in 1998.

The Northern Ireland Countryside Survey Link project has been initiated to co-ordinate linking the two programmes of work with the intention of producing a UK report to common standards. The project will provide UK statistics on widespread habitats, linear landscape features, land cover and vegetation.
